Ask Huffle

Lizzie and her three kitties (who don't have a blog - please remind Lizzie that ALL kitties should have their own blog if they want) asked me this question.  Can you tell us where you came from? Do you know your parents?

Huffle 207

The short answer is no, I don't know where I came from and I don't remember my parents. I wound up at the Cat Protection Society when I was around five years old, and had been there for three months when mum and dad arrived to adopt me.

Mum and dad think I had a very bad start to life because I was terrified of everything when I first came home, and when a man wearing motorcycle boots came to the house I freaked out. I don't let anyone touch my belleh, even after nearly six years of being here, and they think I was starved before because I ate so much when I arrived that I made myself sick. My furs were all dry, and I wouldn't let anyone pick me up. Dad thinks maybe someone used to kick me in the belly before.

Now I have a wonderful family (except for Teddy the Goon) who let me do whatever I want to do and I am very happy!

I am so happy that you found the forever home you are in now and that you are well taken care of (even if Terri is a "pill".

Awww, honey. I had NO idea you had such a rough start. I guess it's OK if you don't like Teddy the goon then. OK?

Gracie doesn't like to be touched ANYWHERE except her head and just behind it. She's particularly happy when I scritch her right side since her Special Leg doesn't exactly cooperate.

Huffle,we are not sure of our parents either. We are just glad we found a place where there is food and a roof over our heads. The newest member of our family won't let the assistant touch her at all. We are so glad you found such a good home.

And now you are just beautiful and you do have parents - very nice ones too. And deep down we still think you like the Goon.

Awwww, that's so sad you don't remember your pawrents. But...i'm glad you don't remember any horrible things that happend before you got to live in your wonderful Forever Home. I bet even Teddy makes you smile most days ;) xx

Huffle, I am very sorry for any bad stuff that happened to you before your pawrents got you. It makes Mom angry that ANY humans could treat a beautiful kitty (or even an ugly one) with anything other than love and caring. I am so glad you have your forever home with your humans.

But this bring me more question.
what bring your pawrents to adopted you ? and When you first met your pawrents at the Cat Protection Society. Did you flirt them ? and How ? Me and Mom just love to know the love story when you met your pawrents : )
Have a purrfect day Huffle

Huffle, if something ever happened to my human and Binga wound up at a rescue, her future adopters would think she was starved to death the way she behaves around food too! Not to say that you are a faker - it sounds to me like what you say about being abused could very well be true - but I AM saying that Binga is a faker!

Oh sweet Huffle the thought of someone hurting you makes us very sad. We think having a wonderful family to love you must be so nice (even if Teddy the Goon lives there).

That Woman says that 'all black' cats usually always have rough times. Humans can be such idiots!

Glad you have your lovely parents now and can eat all you want and even have a Goon to take your frustrations out on!

We are glad you have a wonderful home now Huffle and you don't have to let anyone touch your tummy if you don't want to. My Molly died at age 18 and I never once touched her belly (she had a rough start too) but I new she loved me just the same :-)

PS - we think Lizzie and her kitties should start a blog too!!!

Oh Huffle, I too came to Mom very bad-tempered even tho I was just 3 months old. I hated to be touched and carried. I am a bit better today. I let Mommy scratch my head and neck and I also let her carry me for about 3 minutes. But I still dun let anyone touch my belly.

We don't know who are *birth* parents are, either Huffle. But we don't worry about it because, like you, our mommy and daddy love us so much (and we love them back).

Mom doesn't know any of our early stories but she does know we were not well cared for. Like you our brother Jinx was starved, he is still overly concerned with food and he cannot skip a meal...in fact he cannot go past a certain time period. Mom think Gracie was pushed with a hand or foot because she is still so skittish. It hurts Mom a lot to see her afraid when she has never been harmed in any way since she has lived here (since 2005). But we are all so happy to have such a great home that those old memories don't bother any of us.

Huffle! Thanks for sharing that. I had no idea you had such an awful start in life. I was moved around so much in my early life that when Vicki & Paul put me in the Cattery for the first time I thought it was my new home. I was so super excited when they came back for me and brought me back to my favourite home ever. I love it here and they let me do whatever I want and I know they will always come and get me from the Cattery now. It is my little holiday from them.....

OHH poor Huffle, but you have a good pair of humans now and thats the main thing. humans who treat us bad should come back as weeds so we can piddle on them.

Wow Huffle it sounds like you had a rough life. Good thing the perfect new parents came and rescued you and gave you a great life. I don't know my mom either. My foster moms and my adoptive mom think someone dumped me. Luckily, my foster mom found me when I tried getting in the store she worked at and took me home.

Thanks for answering our question, Huffle (even though we don't have a blog...yet!). It makes us sad that there are meanies out there. Fortunately there are also wonderful people like your humans to help put the pieces back together. Thank goodness your humans came and rescued you!

Mom has promised us a blog when she gets retired next year (she's not the swiftest on the internets and will surely have lots of questions). In the meantime, we love reading about you and other blogging kitties and hope that's ok.

Oh poor Huffle! I used to know a kitty called Oscar who was the same. He had a broken rib sticking out, and was terrified of motorcycle helmet people. He grew up to be brave and tough - just like you! Happy you are now living with people who appreciate you.

Oh Huffle, I gotted a little leaky just thinking about what might have happened to you "Before." I am so happy you founded your wonderful Humans, even if they DID adopt the Goon.

I was never mistreated, but NO ONE touches my belleh, EVER, except my very own self.
